ROCKY MOUNTAIN BRIDE/2016

ABOUT THE SHOOT

From the Photographers, Jelger and Tanja

“This styled shoot is an ode to bison, who used to live in the Canadian Rockies in great numbers. At Fraser River Lodge, a small and peaceful herd grazes the days away. The stunning mountain backdrop and the majestic bison made for the perfect setting for this intimate and rustic elopement shoot.

Ariel, the bride, wore a Truvelle dress (Klara). The dress is timeless, feminine and fits perfectly in this rustic environment. Sarah Mulder's elegant, nature-inspired jewelry complemented the look. Ariel wore a dream catcher bracelet and earrings with Herkimer Stones. These crystals are said to be healing stones and are used in dream and vision work.

Our makeup and hair stylist created a simple, yet elegant look, and chose for something completely different from traditional bridal makeup. On Ariel's eyes, she used an olive gold shade and paired it with soft blush tones on the lips and cheeks. This created an ultra feminine, but very organic look. For the hair, she wanted a low-maintenance, romantic updo. Soft curls pinned into a low bun with a few little strands to frame the face is all that our beautiful model needed.

The decor is a combination of vintage and rustic elements that almost look mismatched, but tie in together nicely with a beautiful rug. The peonies are a very simple and soft female touch to the whole.

The models, Nathan and Ariel, were married just a few weeks after this photo shoot. Their love shines through in the photographs.”
