"I grew up in a very small town in Northern Louisiana. I was a country girl growing up but I have definitely turned myself into a city girl."

Meet Kimberly a Louisiana native and recently turned Seattleite blogging her way through her travels from city to city with Mascara Melodies.  As a 26 year old Travel Nurse Kimberly's love of fashion and blogging is bringing her on some great adventures,

"As a travel nurse I move to different cities to work at hospitals that have a high need for Nurses. My first travel Job was in Nashville, TN. I spent 7 Months in Nashville, it was so amazing... Each work assignment usually only lasts for 3 months.

After Nashville came Scottsdale, AZ and now she is calling Seattle her home.  I hope you enjoy Kimberly's feature in this month's Style Story!

Big thank you to Jaci Marie Photography & Kylee Paterson Photography for these beautiful photos!

After Seattle is there another city on your wish list you are hoping to travel to?

Yes of course! I have a list of cities that I want to travel to. I hope to stay in Seattle until October. After Seattle I'm looking into San Francisco, Hawaii, San Diego, Chicago, New York, and Australia.

Tell us about being a nurse and what you love about it.

Nursing has been amazing. It is the hardest thing that I have ever done in so many ways. It’s emotionally and physically draining.  It has definitely helped me grow into the person that I am today. I love being able to make my patients smile and laugh. Being able to help people for a living has been pretty great. Not easy but great. It has given me the opportunity to travel and meet so many people.

While you're traveling what is something that brings you comfort?

Music of course!

What are your travel essentials?

Dry Shampoo and a cell phone charger.

Music is in the title of your blog and used throughout your website, what is the importance of music + fashion for you?

Music and Fashion have always been a huge part of my life. I knew that music had to be a part of my fashion blog somehow. Music means so much to me, no matter what I have gone through in my life I’ve used music to get through it. Cliche I know but it's so true.

I love using lyrics as my song titles. It has been a great way to merge two of my favorite things. I borrowed the idea from Cathy of Poor Little It Girl.

What is your favorite part about blogging?

My favorite part about blogging has been the connections that I have been able to make. I have made so many friends and have been able to meet the most interesting people. My blog has been such a huge part of helping me adapt to my new cities.
