Jessica Luxe (Vancouver, BC)

She says, "Life is too short to wear boring clothes" and boring she is not.  Meet Jessica Luxe Vancouver's Edgiest Fashion Blogger and my very first muse for my new series of collaborations "Style Stories".  In this series I ask women in the fashion industry "how would you style my jewelry?"  We met up with Kim James (of Kim James Photography) one beautiful Fall day to see how Jessica would style her favorite pieces from my jewelry collection with clothes from her own wardrobe.  The result?  An amazing afternoon filled with creative inspiration, fabulous women, and stunning photos.  I'm so excited that I could launch these stories with Jessica Luxe, her on-camera and in-person energy was addictive, and I can't wait to get her in front of a camera for me again soon!  Big thank you to Jessica Luxe for her daring modeling and styling & to Kim James for capturing every moment so beautifully.

Why were you drawn to the Sarah Mulder Jewelry pieces that you chose for this shoot and how did you decide what to wear? I’ve gone through a lot of jewelry in my life and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that I’m all about the statement necklaces. If you can’t see it from a couple feet away, then it tends to disappear into my busy outfits and that’s no good; so for this look I chose a gorgeous moon piece because it’s bold and delicate at the same time, and I matched it with the blouse I’m wearing because they share a lot of the same qualities. Where are your clothes from and where do you tend to spend the most time shopping? I find my pieces everywhere; I do a lot of thrifting and online shopping, and I prefer it to shopping in-store mostly because I like being able to chill in a onesie, drinking tea and having it all at my fingertips.

What was the last item that you added to your wardrobe? The last item I added to my closet was a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Underwoods that were sent to me by Tilted Sole. They’re black buckled beauties, and I’ll be releasing the feature pretty soon on my blog! Is there a favorite item in your closet that you can't live without if so where did you find it? I’m thinking about all my favorite pieces, but my one and only would have be this vintage faux-fur jacket I bought for my Cruella de Vil Halloween costume 4 years ago, intended to keep it for costumes, and then just ended up wearing it as a jacket, even though nobody else was down with (faux) fur at the time.

If you could choose one store/designer to shop from for the rest of your life who would it be and why? Just.. one.. designer? Probably Jeffrey Campbell for shoes because he dominates my shoe closet aaand Black Milk Clothing for leggings/catsuits/everything else because they’re my second obsession. Dream item? Up until recently, my dream item was a Lennon sweater by Wildfox Couture, but I recently went on a Wildfox binge, courtesy of local shop, Holly Boutique; so now my dream item is a crown! I haven’t found any online yet, but I will cus crowns are dope.

So what's next for Jessica Luxe?

There’s nothing I love more than putting together Lookbooks for the brands I work with and I hope to one day make a living off of my blog.  I have dual citizenship for Europe, so I’d like to live there one day because I think the creativity flows a little freer over there.

xx, Jessica Luxe
