ABOUT SARAH
The emerging Vancouver artist’s collection of recent work showcases paintings that explore patterning, nature and balance, referencing images of quiet landscapes and reflecting her relationship to art as therapy. Sarah Mulder’s paintings embody the influences of her personal photography, memories, and sketches to convey an extension of her own environment and thoughts. Her paintings, which incorporate acrylic paint, pencil, ink washes and tactile material, are vibrant and dramatic.
Sarah Mulder has formally explored fine arts and art theory for the past ten years and has been professionally exhibiting art for the past three years. Mulder graduated with a diploma in fine arts at Langara Community College in 2000 and studied art history abroad with the European Art History Field Study Program through Langara College. Exposure to the richness of European history and art encouraged Mulder to complete her Bachelors in Fine Arts, which she did in 2005, graduating with honors from the highly regarded Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.
